I got the Maxx because the hood makes it rain resistant while driving. The Fantastic can be covered by a Camco cover to get a similar function. The Fantastic with Camco is bigger so I got the Maxx.
I got the Maxx with the manual lid and 10 speed non remote fan. The remote control requires the electric open/close. I thought that might be more trouble than I wanted.
Say good night, Dick.

Here's a review that directly compares the two. https://binged.it/2u5MIdF

Now if they can only remember where they put it.

I got the Fantastic Vent Fan because I liked the abilty to install the vent cover as integral to the fan installation. Whatever fan you purchase, if you can possibly fit it, please install a cover on it. The ability to leave the vent open and/or running in the pouring rain is wonderful.
I think the Maxxair fans use less energy. Though I have enough to spare that it's not a problem for me. Ted

Now a fan vent that powers itself is the cats meow. I had a similar one on my old class A, and I loved everything about it.

The fan I got has the cover integrated. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002OWAIB8/ With the fan you linked you also need a cover to have the fan on in the rain https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000UUMM6K/ I don't know if the cover I linked will work with the fan you linked. I didn't check.

In the wet WEST COAST everyone I know uses Maxxair. Expensive but doesn't need a cover. Covers and low branches like to have fun together if height isn't an issue anything with a rain cover is fine but it must be able to be used in the rain as that is when you'll need to get dry and condensation is ugly.

Actually you can use those in the rain, but you just have to lower the lid down leaving a small gap of an inch or two. They won't move as much air this way, but can still be used.
Yeah, a driving hard rainstorm will splash the rain inside, as it would with many types of fans.
