I wound up canceling my order for 22 Ampace JP40's...I dislocated my shoulder, assumed.id.never esk8 again so no need to build a new battery.
I was not riding the esk8 when i dislocated it. I was standing next to jt, when it abot.off.towards the seawall,.amx I.dove after it. Got.one hand onnit, when other hand hit.concrete, out.popped the shoulder, and board splashed anyway. I was able to retrieve it be ause the large pneumatic tires up front kept it from.sinking onto oyster beds below.
The 10s1p Molicel p42a was destroyed as were the motors and all electronics and wiring
2.5 months later i reassembled.the esk8 with lesser parts, and can ride again. I just cant fall.
I really want to build a new battery. My DMEGC -26r 10s2p must have close.to 3k miles.on it.
It gets too hot too fast.
The cylindrical lithium cell market is booming with new power,.and energy cells, and prices are not.outlandish, on many.
The BAK 45d is a tabless and now available.here in The US flr 4.75$ when buying 11 or more.
A year ago the Molicel p45b was 8$ and the best power cell available on the market. Now.it is 4.35, and eclipsed.in performance at high power.levels by at least 4 other cells,.3.of.which are in the 5-6$ range. there are new cells which eclipse these in both power, and energy, but likely a year off before they are available.to consumer joe.
In the spot welding department, Id like.to be able to weld copper nickel.sandwich thicker than my cheapo mkdified welder can handle, at present.
There is hope I can weld 0.15mm thick copper with 0.1.nickel.plated steel atop.
Disregarding the nickelsteel ampacity 0.1mm copper is equivalent to 0.4mm pure nickel, and most ezk8 batteries use 0.15 or 0.2 pure nickel for parallel connections.
