My issues with drop in is was 50amp max cbarge rate, but one can now get 200amp smart bms' and buy quality Prisimatic cells and DIY sometbing far mo better and reliabile, than most drop inss
will prowse ooens up a lot of them, seems some interior components and buikd quality all over the map within the same brand.
the off grid garage guy tests all sorts of BMS's,
the whole litbium bms thing was a mind hurdle for me , whe one is melded with lead acid's relative tolerance to over/undercharge events.
sin e lithium cells kick groin at overundervoktage, the bns is necessary.
but the bms is one more thing which can fail, and if unchecked, can take out the cells, of worse.
The bms balance wires looks like a rats nest maze, but it pretty simple, but each one is a potential dead short, so routing then cleanly, and protecting them means some of the less mechanically inclined should not attempt.
Doubt Ill ever buy lead acid again, for cycling.
