I bought an SUV now what?
#7
Welcome aboard franko !
I'm glad you actually belong here instead of the army of spammers I have to constantly slam the door on !!

Sorry , I doubt you will find a ready made blueprint although I suppose there are some out there .

Will it fit YOUR needs? hmmmmmmmm there's the hitch.
You are about to undertake a journey many of us have navigated. Some more than once ! (I've been playing this game since the early 80s and every rig I've done is a refinement of the previous one.. Refining our ideas as we go is how most do it.

We all have had this problem. The best way to set it up is YOUR way. ! A universal design that fits everybody , doubt there is one...everybody needs/wants different things. Custom everything isn't required but sure can make a difference. . But there are some ideas on this for this stage of your build ...Like what solar components are better ? Water storage ideas , How to manage bathroom breaks , etc etc.
How about we just discuss one part of the build at a time to sus out your wants and needs ?

I think most of us started out with an air mattress and reflectix in the windows ! LOL Not the best choice but a start.
Many ideas come during this period. (What do I need to do to replace this air mattress that leaves me sleeping on plywood every time it springs a leak ?) That's how it went for me ....

Like the crew has already been asking , we need to know more about your needs ...pointy fingering to specific details with your vision in mind will be much better than just going with somebody else's idea of perfect.

You can get ideas here but you are the only one that will be living in it.
We can make suggestions and point out hidden issues you might not have thought of though and will be happy to help you on your build.

So let's get started !

What is the condition of your new van ? Mechanical issues need to be first before you begin the build.
Don't want to go through a bunch of work only to find out you need a motor and tranny , the rust is taking over or it was in a wreck and won't drive in a straight line Was it ever in a flood ? You get the idea ...

Now , WHERE do you see yourself going in your new home and what seasonal weather extremes will you find there ?
Step one after mechanical is usually waterproofness...soon followed by ventilation ,wiring and insulation , many influencing factors .

.
stay tuned
  Cool
