Loose wires are always an issue too , especially in vehicle systems.
Don't always trust the power you plug into . Test it before you plug in.
Just one of those 3 light outlet testers can save your ass , literally.
I have one of the cheaper ones ($50 I think) and I do use it. I will upgrade to one of the better ones when I can.
