I’m glad it was just rubbing on something rather than gases in the coolant. I had to wrestle with my Chevy van intake manifold for a couple days putting new gaskets in it. Yuk, what a mess. Pressure was building up in the cooling system and popping the lower and upper hose off the radiator. A new radiator cap didn’t fix it so was forced to replace the gaskets. Glad I did as it would not have run much longer. The same hoses are still on it. Ive owned 30-40 old cars and have never had a radiator hose fail. Knock on wood. I ran my van with the radiator cap loose sometimes if I thought pressure was building up. My van runs stronger now. Cleaned the crud out of the intake. Is that possibly a bad O2 sensor making the air fuel mixture too rich? It has loads of power and gets poor fuel mileage.
Come to think of it Ive never seen a cooling system pressure gauge. Thanks
