A few weeks ago over here where I am there was a really clean used ford church bus of the type you are looking for. They were asking $5500. I would have called you about it but when I stopped and looked it over, it had the V10 instead of the diesel that you want.
It might be good for you to shop the adds over here on the west coast rather than the east where you are because there isn't as likely to be rust on vehicles out in the desert southwest.
