Your response to rising gas prices?

I was supposed to hit the road early June for Mexico. But rising gas prices, the heat across the southwest, the Mexican election and the fact that the van is not ready to roll have me thinking late summer or early fall might be smarter. Glad I still have a house. I did read that gas is supposed to drop come September.
