Your response to rising gas prices?

1998 Safari Hightop Conversion w/4.3 Vortec, 4spd auto w/OD = 14 mpg in town & I have a lead foot.  I've taken out 2nd row Captains seats and soon the rear seat/bed.  When it's gone I'll weigh the van empty and at various times as the interior build progresses........if it ever does. Sad

I'm curious to see when the rising gas prices will level out.  I don't think any long trips are in my near future.  I need to see how far I can go on a tank of gas with part of it not in town traffic.  

I wonder if the mountains in north AL and Ga are any cooler in the summer?  I live in south AL at the edge of the tropic zone<<<<<for planting outside plants and flowers.

I've  been running a AC off and on for 3wks if not longer.
