Faith/Politics and resources/idea of family?
It is my observation that in America the media likes to portray people as polarized. Then, it becomes the truth. It brings up the ratings (I think) , thus making them more money. It seems to me that people who watch the news / TV are more worked up about stuff I think is trivial. The politicians feed off of that, and then say stuff that the media reports.
To use an internet analogy, it's like trolls throwing down flamebait, and hot discussions ensue. Now, once you realize that places like YouTube pay for views and viewing time , it makes more sense , at least to me, why some YouTubers take so long to get to the point or to make no point at all. Why some post new posts every day. They are making money off of it.
So, the more controversy one stirs up, the more $$$ one makes. Scott, does that not happen in Canada?
For example, I still haven't figured out the Kardashians. I never heard of them, and then one day, they were everywhere you look. WTF. If you stand in line to buy something almost ANYWHERE, you are bombarded with the covers of magazines talking about breakups, get-back-togethers, who got kicked off of the island, and so on...
Enough of this ... as John Prine wrote, " Blow up your TV, move to the country.... "
Regards,
Pat
