Fat isn't all bad for you. The "authorities" are now admitting that the Sugar People paid them more money than the Fat People did. You've heard that 'money talks', right?
Weston Price (1870-1948) traveled the world for years, trying to discover why so many people in a high-class country like the U.S. were developing high cholesterol, weak bones (osteoporosis) and bad teeth, but people in far less affluent countries had good teeth, strong bones and clean arteries. He knew there had to be a reason, a problem in the diet. After he died, others carried on his research.
Finally, about 2007 or 2009, the missing link was pinned down and named Vitamin K2. It is related to regular Vitamin K (known for coagulating blood, but even this was only determined in 1974), but has different effects on the body.
It turns out that Vitamin K2 is found naturally in meat, dairy and eggs, BUT only in the meat, dairy and eggs fed on natural grass (etc) forage, in sunlight (both required to have it in the food product).
Researchers have discovered that K2 directs where calcium goes. Without K2, calcium goes where it is easiest: it mixes with fat and cholesterol and settles in the arteries. With sufficient K2 (estimated to be between 180-220 mcg daily), the calcium is DIRECTED to the places it's needed, the bones and teeth, and the fats slide through the arteries without being nailed down to the arterial walls by the calcium.

But shortly after 1900, farmers had started with factory farming, feeding mainly grain and hay (very low in K2), with the animals having no or little exposure to sunlight. Vitamin K2 levels in foods (meat, dairy and eggs) dropped like rocks. The more factory farming increased, the worse people's health got, with very high numbers of heart disease (our #1 killer), osteoporosis, and bad teeth.
Most of what we 'know' about nutrition is false, and got that way with Congress and businessmen chasing the almighty dollar. Doctors only know what they're taught in medical school, which is determined by the American Medical Association (AMA). AND, doctors know very little about nutrition. Out of their eight years or so in school, take a guess as to how much learning about nutrition they got................................ Did you guess about 25 whole HOURS? Probably not. Most of them know little to nothing about it, if you ask them questions about it.
My cynical nature has slowly come around to thinking that the average doctor is nothing but the supply line between Big Pharma and their victims.... us. That's why drug companies advertise their PRESCRIPTION products to you on TV. They want you to ask your doctor for it, if he isn't already suggesting it. Many/most of the benefits of the new stuff is in its profit margin, not in its benefit to you.
