Code name “Baby”
Started at the Not-Brain-Surgery level.. lol
(I really am not as clever as Stern thinks I am.. -still love ya tho.. Smile )

And well… some possible great news…. Looks like my positive battery connector is crap.
Will obtain/install a new one tomorrow.
Cleaned the daylights out of it, (and all other battery related bits) and she fires up better and stays Much more level.

More news tomorrow- after post clampy doodad gets swapped.

Thx to SW for the vehicle specific scoop !
After you're done shining up the wiring and replacing the battery cable clamp you can go back to worrying about not running out of dog treats cuz as the saying goes . Happy dog , happy life.

Sooo- the shop that screwed me on the leafs.. apparently also screwed me on the wheel bearings and brakes..
Front left wheel wiggles 1-2"-3/4" due to wobbly bearings (causing the clunking)
and, back then, they suggested only doing the pads- that the rotors still had some life left.. so now there are burn marks on the rotors...

On the Plus side— the new (diagnosis) shop asked me to bring her back in, after the screw-up shop tries to fix their mistakes— and they will check the work for me- foc!!  Yay

Can you guess who will be getting all my business- after this?? Wink

Hopefully they can clean up their mess and very glad to hear you found good backup wrench pullers !
Also hope you don't have to wait too long for the second try fix.

I So the garbage shop ‘fixed’ the bearings by (they Say) pulling, repacking, and putting it back in.  Supposedly one side was 2 notches loose and the other side was 1 notch loose.  Supposedly the bearings need to be re-adjusted a bit after they are run a couple hundred miles.. (they never said anything about that when they originally did the work) and they Say the bearings look new- and were fine (regardless of the wheel wobble) so they didn’t replace them.  And that they drove her and the clunk is gone.
They Also claim that my rear brakes are within spec, but need adjustment- and That is why my front brakes look burnt. (um… what?)
They completely ignored the lack of brake residue on the wobbly side wheel- aka- brakes not working correctly on that side..
And the counter guy just kept deflecting or ignoring my questions .    F them.  They will never touch my rig again.
Going to the new shop on Friday. Because the clunk IS still there.. quieter, but still there.
