Redpocket 10 Gig plan $23.25/month for Verizon
#1
I am in the process of replacing my Redpocket $60 a year plan on a Sprint phone with the $279.00 a year plan on Verizon. I did this for a few reasons. First the $60 plan is so limited I ended up using Google voice connected to my hotspots. Second, being Sprint when I really did need that number I had a hell of a time getting service. Third with the loss of the $5 a month hotspots I have not had a Verizon solution for those rare times that I absolutly had to have Verizon which honestly not very often. I considered Visible and it's $40 a month unlimited plan but it seems like being throttled whaen real Verizon users were sucking up the band width would really make it suck in Quartzsite over the winter.

Here is the Redpocket plan on ebay. It is unlimited talk and text with 10 gigs of LTE a month for $279 a year. It can be used on any service depending on your phone. They send out a sim card for each service and you use the one that works with your phone. You can port in a number as long as you do it as you set it up. I did so last year with the help of the chat feature on their site.

That looks good!
I’ve also been considering google fi. Do you know anything about it?

Wondering if the redpocket roams or is it like the other MVNO's? There are a few places I like to go where there is no AT&T signal and the Verizon signal is roaming. When I had straight talk with verizon, it did not work there. I have gone to native verizon for phone and jetpack. Jetpack is only $20 month addon unlimited at 3G speeds. 3G was plenty for me with that old $5 a month plan. I can stream netflix and such.

Off the top of my head Google FI uses multiple carriers but I do not believe Verizon is one of them.

That’s right. I remember reading that now. I’m also looking for a Verizon solution. I have AT&T and US Cellular and I would like Verizon in there somewhere as well. I miss my $5 hotspot.

I wanted to say that you might want to wait for black Friday to order. As it is 10 gigs a month on Verizon for $18.25 a month is pretty good. It's more than enough to keep me connected if none of the other services are working. I may not stream Netflix day and night but I really shouldn't be doing that anyways.

They do allow hotspot use on the phone.

I can only remember one spot north of Parker where my 3G did not work but I do not think it was a roaming issue because the $5 4G worked and it did not roam either. Even with the booster/directional antenna I could not pull in the signal from the tower in Parker. There the 3G worked great.

Some one on the other forum pointed out that this is not usable on Verizon. It is my mistake for not seeing the blue and yellow towers in the ad.

Red Pocket chat said that the largest Verizon plan currently is 4 gig at $360 a year. $30 a month for 4 gig is underwhelming considering Visible is unlimited at $40.

There is a unlimited plan for $199 usable with Verizon BUT only the first 2 gigs are high speed with 2G speeds after that. This might work great as in the end all I must have is emails and forums.
