Verizon unlimited 4G $5 a month
#41
The AT&T Mobley ate the 4G Verizon's lunch with 12.5 Mbps down setting on the table and 19.5 Mbps down in the window. On the other hand the up load is slower at 4 Mbps.

T-Mobile gets a whopping 28 Mbps down in the window but a pitiful 357 kbps up. This is fine as I only use it for streaming.

The PC's4P Sprint hotspot is roaming here and while it connects it is barely usable at 226 kbps down and 241 kbps up.

The 3G Verizon hotspot connects with 1.3 Mbps down and 234 kbps up.

I have not been setting up the boosters as of late because generally I have not needed them with the unboosted speeds I have been seeing out of at least one of the various hotspots. I have been moving a lot so the less I have to set up and take down the better.

My 6620L that DrWireless flashed to 4G has been working great, EXCEPT a somewhat major issue. It thinks I'm in Canada. I found this out when I tried to watch a show on Amazon Prime. Amazon video won't play if you are not in the US. Going to "mylocation.org" reports that I am in Vancouver. Also when I go to "redbox.com" I get an Access Denied error message. When I connect to my 4620 all is good.

I anyone else having a similar problem?

Interesting. My Freedompop 4G sims were based out of London and I was able to watch the Euro version of Netflix with different movies on them. What is the phone number that you got with the hotspot? Check and see if it is Canadian. I will check Netflix on my 4G hotspot now.

The area code is 470 which is Atlanta, GA. The IP address which is reported by mylocation.org is 172.93.39.95 which is for Vancouver Canada.

My Netflix plays but when I ran a speedtest with Ookla it showed Uniserve Communications Corporation in Vancouver Canada.

DR Wireless reflashed my 6620 and it now has a US IP but now when I try to play an Amazon Video I get a message stating:

"Your device's Internet connection is using an HTTP proxy which prevents playing your video. Please close or disable any proxy programs and try again. For further assistance, please contact Amazon Customer Service at www.amazon.com/videohelp and refer to error 1042."

DR Wireless claims they have no fix for the problem. I am tempted to have it flashed back to 3G but they say I would have to send it to them to do that.

Thanks for the info. and keep us informed, I'm about ready to pull the trigger on one of these but I use Amazon and would need to be able to access Prime videos. (when I was in Mexico, Amazon Prime was Extremely limited on what you could watch, next to nothing)

I've been watching Prime Video on mine---in the US on a US account. The speed test does show me as going through Canada, though. And I have experienced a couple time on a couple of sites, now that I'm looking for it, that the site seems to think I'm in Canada.

Okay testing Amazon prime now. On the Amazon Firestick I get the Service area restriction and it will not play but Netflix does.

It may be the video you are trying to watch

Price drop on eBay to $239.
Price increase to $275 from the Dr Wireless website.

I just pulled the trigger on this.
