Thing is, 'cruiser' now has meanings much broader than just the nautical meaning, so it won't automatically bring a boat to mind for most people.

As I recall, the standard is if it's under 100' it's a boat, if it's over 100' it's a ship. On the radio you would address it as "unknown vessel."
"Travelaunch" still sounds good, but I think I can do better.
Pirate ship synonyms: buccaneer, corsair, filibuster, freebooter, marauder, raider, rover, sea robber, sea rover, sea wolf
Mobile marauder? A little too creeper.
Bitumen buccaneer? Too English? Maybe skip my dental visits to Algodones.
Road Raider? Mad Max is cool.
I'm thinking on it.
