That’s an excellent point about the sawdust.

I do have a layout that I’ve been refining for the past month but it’s not changing a lot in terms of key utilities— there is a wall in front of the wheel well that allows utilities to cross the van, so unless I decide to put the bed in the front it all works.

I have a place to do some building, but not all of it, I expect. Not sure where else I could work (RV storage places won’t allow it, etc, but BLM land could work.... hence the mobile setup. But that sawdust... hmmmm.

I've been thinking about getting a fitted vinyl/plastic mattress cover that would normally be placed under the sheets but putting it on over the top of all the bedding to keep dust off the bedding when I travel dusty roads.
It would work for sawdust as well, I'd suppose.

That’s a good idea, but too easy. I should build a hoist to hoist the bed to the ceiling! LOL. Kidding.

 I like that idea.  Cool

Terchno
There is(was ?) a class A RV with the bed on a hoist to the living room ceiling deal .
I think they were called Trek .
Ads touted the bed as saving a whole room and they were 23' IIRC.

I have used one of those waterproof cloth versions of mattress bags on my memory foam matt for many years....(under the sheets)
It keeps the foam from absorbing the excess humidity when heating with propane and keeps it from molding from being soggy all the time .

BIG plus for me this winter is the leak above the bed doesn't ruin many nights of sleep with one night of leaking.
(It will be warm someday and I might even find+seal that leak wherever it's getting in,,,never above the spot that drips !!!)

Wow! Such cool stuff. Been so busy with Putt haven’t been reading all the threads. Can’t wait to see your build blossom. Should be very interesting. Enjoy!
