Sometimes reality hits you in the face and breaks your nose.

My favourite two writers are Adams and McCammon. I have been blessed to share time with both of them. Both are incredible and interesting people. I shared a LONG flight with Adams while he was doing research for sadly his last book Last Chance To See.

When I read HHGTTG I understood what 42 meant, as described above, I obviously incorrectly assumed most others did as well and the book references about understanding the question or "what was asked" would help the other that didn't. Seeing this post made me think three things.

1. Damn, I am a geek.
2. Ouch, my nose hurts.
3. That was what the strange look was for when I said "Life is anything you want it to be" on a long flight years ago.

Douglas Adams is a favorite of mine as well. My youngest son and I did a road trip in 2016 up the coast from Eureka to Port Angeles and then over to Seattle and Portland and then back to Eureka. We had the HHGTTG on dvd, the old BBC radio show, maybe 20 hours of radio show. It was wonderful listening while driving and enjoying the amazing scenery. Good times!
