What I'll do is get all my scripts filled in over here and bring the medicine with me in my luggage. I'll also bring the doctors letter and script should I get stopped at customs and also as proof. then try and see a doctor in the states that will fill the same script out for me. I don't like my chances though because I know how much doctors in the states like to send their patients in for tests etc. So I'm wondering if I took my doctor's address and phone number if the U.S doctors would do me the courtesy of calling my doc and exchanging info. I know that that exchange would save me in a lot of retesting and money.

Two things:

We're only allowed to bring a 90 day supply of medication back from Mexico.  I would check with the US embassy in OZ to see if you will be allowed to bring in more than that from OZ.

I'm going to see a new doctor for the first time in a couple of weeks.  My cardiologist provided me with his physicians notes to give to the new doctor.  Talk to your doctor about that.  Also, see what's involved in getting a complete set of your medical records to bring back with you.
Regards

John

I don't like to make advance plans.  It causes the word PREMEDITATED get thrown around in the courtroom!
I'm NOT crazy!  My mother had me tested! Cool

It can take 90 days or more to get an appointment to see a specialist here. You might want to see if you can schedule right away when you get here. In our medical set up everything goes through a GP or primary care doctor. It can take a while for a new patient to be seen. Then he refers you to what ever specialist. That can take a while, too. Can you mail your prescription to yourself here before you leave?
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

Snikwahjm,

I guess i could mail the prescription but there's no-one in the U.S to pick it up for me and the post office might do a return to sender.

a:  I don't have a primary care physician and I don't have any problem seeing a cardiologist, a urologist, etc.  I think you are thinking of HMOs who require a referal from a GP or they won't pay for the specialist.

b:  Mailing drugs into the country ain't that easy.  See:
