I like the idea of being able to drop the camper in your spot and having the truck to go do errands like shopping or trash disposal. If I was a single fella I'd probably go that direction but buy an old truck camper I could gut and rebuild. No inside kitchen or bathroom. I'm becoming more and more interested in an outdoor shower/potty attachment on the side of the camper and then pulling a small camp kitchen trailer. Probably not a practical rig for the wife and I but I still enjoy reading and researching. It took a few days of pros and cons to finally get her to stop thinking about a bus conversion.. hahaha
I'm single. What were the cons you found with the bus conversion? I'm planning and acquiring all the items for some sort of van/bus etc. Feel free to PM me if this is off topic. Thank you!

Not yet, but I'm hoping to buy an Alaskan Camper next year. Already have the F250 to mount it on. When you get ready to do that let me know. Depending on the year F250 you have I got an extra kit set of air bags for the rear of a F250. Brand new..never installed. Might barter with you. Not looking for much. Feel free to PM me on the bags.

It's a 2012 F250. Thanks for the offer, but that's already taken care of.

I told Wagoneer at the RTR that I really liked the truck camper idea...so when I got back to Texas I pulled the trigger on a new 4WD pickup, and ordered a topper for it.
I'm planning to pull my cargo trailer as a toy-hauler/camper/basecamp unit, and have a pickup and motorcycle for surface transport. I really missed not having a 'grocery getter' while out there in the desert.
Wagoneer and myself got to tell a few tall tales and I like the way the pickup camper works for him...
I will be removing all my crap from my van and restoring it to near 'stock' condition to sell on Craigslist.
Wish me luck!

This is the pickup as I bought it, no topper yet. It should be about 2 weeks for the shell to come in.
And pulling the cargo trailer I bought last year and I have it partially completed inside.
My current Ford van has the smallest V8, it gets good mileage but is not very good at pulling this trailer.
This new pickup fixes that problem. It's got plenty of pulling power, a 5.6L V8, almost 400 horsepower, and 4 wheel drive. 7 speed automatic, with tow-mode. I got a very good deal on a new closeout 2017 model. Plus five year, 100,000 mile warranty.
Nissan Titan XD, which is what we used to call a 'heavy half'...not quite a 3/4 ton, but still rated at 11,000 pounds trailering and nearly 3000 pounds payload.
I took the pickup with the trailer on a test ride today, pulling some long grades, with a 25 mph headwind and it performed flawlessly.
Wait for it.....wait for it....
I'm one happy camper!
