The Aye storm
#11
We didn’t get anything here in Longwood. Got up at 5:00 to a gentle breeze, a shower every once and a while. Man, I thought I was going to be running the chainsaw, working on the roof, cleaning up debris……
Nothing… I didn’t even have a leaf in my front yard! I’m a HAPPY BOY!
Hope everyone on the coast is OK.

A perimeter check revealed a few downed palm fronds some displaced mulch.

neighbors fence section that used to adjoin ours at property line and si.ply propped io badly, , which id offered to reattach to ours but was declined, has fallen.

still a steady 25mph wind, 35 mph gusts.

The leak in attic is on North facing slope, wind was SSE at time wrappng aroiund chimney.
i was up there jan 2021 and saw some questionable roofing tiles and attempts at repairs.

probably in the eternabond realm of temporary repair that becomes forgotten about and thus permanent.

Looks like post tropical storm Lee is going to provide a lot more energy to All of Maine, than my part of Florida experienced during Hurricane Idalia.

A certain Pirate might be needing to batton some hatches, since the trees still have leaves, unlike winter storms of similar or greater intensity.

One of my wiser, less encumbered, and financially free friends, flew to North of Border, to meet this swell, and has been rewarded. He now underatands the Atlantic froth that i tried , unsuccessfully, to relate, as no amount of i research and 'imagine,' can equal actual experience.

Heavy , territorial locals to tiptoe around.
Understandable.
Reluctantly sent Pics, look insanely fun.
I won't share.

Because crowds suck, and I still dream fondly, of the few places where they don't yet exist.

SW
4:30 am ??? Still nada thing yet.
6:30 am ..Wind ~varying 10-20kt gusts might be 30-35.
Not drowning in the occasional spitting rain .
(A puddle by my door from last week's rain was dried up @ 4:30 and still is dry ! )
Humidity 72%
Hurri-meh.
So far ...Beach erosion ? Don't think so . Wind coming from wrong direction , our beaches mostly face SE .
Surf ? you be the judge ,Beach Cam Old Orchard , our biggest . Actually that one is a little north of the main beach away from the crowds , most surfers hang there anyway , is on Pine Point fer sure !
