RAV4 Camping?
#31
also forgot you were Keto. forget the packaged canned crap I mentioned like most people eat that crap LOL
see I could throw frozen meat in a cooler with a bag of ice
I can cook frozen meat right on a grill, done deal. Me being carnivore I can easily do a few days on the smallest of cooler issues and I know you being Keto can easily do the same for a day or 3 even!

Thanks Sternwake. I have some reflectix leftover from the RV that I will start with, but I may have to upgrade to that.

No rain camping yet. And I'm planning to go to Kisatchie National Forest. There are several campgrounds, most are free, and some have water/trash. That will be in a couple weeks though. I still have to get things from the storage unit, and I'm helping my mom get ready for a garage sale. I'm hoping to do the "yard camping" next week though.

Checked out the bug netting this afternoon. I have one for back windows

the sun roof

and the back hatch

My car needs some cleaning on the outside. Wow at all the pollen. It was so breezy and nice out there today.

I am a huge fan of those ‘puzzle-mats’ cut to fit windows.. super blackout and insulation AND soundproofing.. winwinwin.. I shiny paint one side and black the other.

Kyz do you need a new shoulder? I’ve done one and it’s tough. Long recovery too but worth it when it gets so bad you can’t sleep.

I *think* it was a pinched nerve. I finally looked up "Dr Google" and followed some advice there and it's on the mend.

So... I did an overnight in the RAV on Friday night. The hanging out until bedtime went fine. I wasn't bothered by the space. However, the sleeping part went horribly. I got 3 hours sleep, was up before daylight, and my shoulder has been bothering me again ever since. The 4 inch topper was definitely not enough. It's slowly getting better again, but I have been popping the motrin.

I haven't given up the idea, but I am considering my options. I'm seriously thinking about a roof top tent. I'd have more space, and I can add an air mattress or something. I have a month to mull that over and research though.

A while back before the RAV camping thought, I'd found a cabin to rent cheap, but it was occupied by a guy waiting on his RV to be repaired. I had given up on it becoming available before the summer. Well I got to reserve it for a full month. It's supposed to be pretty secluded/woodsy. I'll know for sure when I get there though.

And...I already have a question/concern. My roof rack on the RAV4 is "factory" and it's weight limit is 102 pounds. Most of the tents are over that weight, and that doesn't include MY weight. So is this a no-go?
