I was gently informed that Someone would rather be able to see ahead.. so- until such time as I find a lower back seat and/or one that reclines into the dash.. my ps is back to factory settings.

Well Frikkity Sheet Balz!
Was still battling the transmission leak.. and seeing as how we are moving, to another state, in about 2 weeks… Figured I would address the issue- dropped the pan, cleaned everything up, and put a fresh gasket (with appropriate goo) and followed the instructions exactly. Aaand a corner blew out once there was fluid in the pan. So it is running down the driveway…. Daaammmnnit!
This is getting ridiculous-
Ok Fine. Ordered the super duty summit racing $40 metal lined gasket.. and will be getting a couple more gallons of trans fluid.. and doing it. Yet Again..
Too many things are going sideways right now……..

When working on a dweller rig , any planned repairs/maintenance is required to multiply your to do list by a factor of at least 5 !
You know that thing about being cursed ? Maybe......LOL
Maybe it's saving the trouble free part for when you're out dwelling ?
stay tuned

SonOfA…
Ok- got the Good Spendy metal lined gasket..threw away another $100 of fluid..(grr), cleaned both surfaces to shiny.. finished with 90% rubbing alcohol. Applied, torqued, fluid…. Aaaand still leaks..
Bad Words..
Ok- I am resigned to dealing with this for a while.. just going to monitor and top prn.
At least, with the metal core gasket, it won’t blow out randomly like a ‘soft’ gasket… *shrug*

It usually takes a while to massage a pan lip to be flat. I have had a lot of experience with a 2x 2 and a 2x4 making the dimples from the screws flat.
I set the pan on the 2x4 and use the 2x 2 to flatten the metal with a hammer. Find a drain plug with a magnet built in to catch any shavings.
The key is to not over tighten

Ok- for those following the s&b saga.. the house sold, and I/we have transplanted to the land of AZ.
Next week Miss Knezz and I fly back to TX (gonna go Business Class for more space for the girl.. based on the proclivities of a good friend of mine) to pick up the van..which is currently napping at a friends place out in the sticks.. and drive back to the little condo, finish the unpack & sort maneuver, then I get a couple weeks in December in Qz as ‘vacation’
Let me tell ya- moving across states and all the accompanying fun and paperwork is a pita!
