What is prime shipping?

I generally don't have issues with Prime shipping...except in Quartzsite.

I have literally heard it referred to as the "Amazon Quartzsite tax".

Flagstaff? Two days.  Tulsa? Two days.  Top of a mountain in the middle of a forest in a old miner's cabin five miles from the nearest shop? Two days.
Yes the mountain thing is real.  I was visiting a friend near Boulder Creek, California (not far from San Jose).

Quartzsite? Week and a half, minimum.  Even the estimated time in the listings when you are looking up stuff says about a week and a half.

I haven't had prime for at least a couple years, minus free months they offer here and there...but I did just sign back up for during the build. Things do get delivered here in 2 days now that Christmas is over.

Lately I’ve found that Amazon will not ship to me. 

The new Barker dump tank?  Unavailable west of Kentucky. I went to a sticks and bricks to buy one. They had two day shipping. 

Anything else goes from two days to twelve day shipping. No reason is given. 

I am less likely to be using them for anything other than research anymore.

Amazon ain't what it used to be. Lately it is a fancy eBay with videos that contain ads, "freevee". Most ads are for vaccines. The oddest jab is one that masks a positive HIV status from detection.

I have been using Prime when they offer free 30 day use. I always cancel a couple days before the free trial ends. This year I signed up for a month to month deal because I wanted to watch Thursday night NFL and it was only available to a Prime member. So $16 for a month, 4 games, of NFL. Not that bad a deal. NFL Thursday football ended a couple weeks ago so I canceled prime. I just got a email saying I can get a free trial for 30 days if I sign up, lol. I'll pass as I've done most of my shopping for awhile.
I typically keep my cart full of stuff until the next free offer. Been doing this for years now. I think they still offer free shipping, (not Prime) for orders over $35. Don't know for sure.
