Awning Promaster no roof rack.
#1
I want to put an awning on my 2021 Promaster.  I don’t have a roof rack to hook it to. I saw somewhere that there are clips that attach to the roof nubs (there to attach a roof rack) but CANNOT find them. Has anyone put an awning on without a roof rack installed?  Help and awning product reviews appreciated.

Welcome aboard Ssing !
I can't help with the clips you are looking for . Most of my experience is with RV awnings.
Where have you looked already ?
I'm wondering if the awning manufacturer might be a source ?
I would guess that you could find such things in Quartzsite if you're anywhere near there...
While you wait for someone to respond with better info .
Tell us more about your van build .

We need to get ahold of Doug, the awning king.
Compared to parenting, Cat herding is less complicated

But how many with vans have awnings, but don't use roof racks as attachment points?

I have 2 RVs, and I have two failed awnings. On the Class C I removed the assembly all together when the awning separated from the roller crashing to the ground. The TT's awning is rolled up, but will fail, if and when I ever unroll it, same as what happened with the Class C.

UV is a quiet destroyer of material. High winds are noisy destroyers of awnings.

An observation about RV awnings is that they can trap hot air without a breeze. A mixed blessing of shade and hot air. Add in a breeze that becomes a gust, and that's another awning story of woe and lament.

They are finniky beasts fer sure.
There are plenty of people that want them .
And plenty of ways to destroy one. ,,,, My fave is leaving it up in a rainstorm without dropping one end.
The birds enjoy the new really above ground pool !

Sunshades are a good alternative .But do little to stop that rain.

HOWEVER
Today , we're lookin' for clips .
For a Promaster without a roof rack.

Anybody going to the Q big tent today ?

I’ve seen something like a pair of heavy magnets that have rings that the awning attached to and then bulge tented out type thing.

We use a Sunshade

The Promaster has mounting points on the roof similar to the Transit

A little metal-shoppe work should produce an L-shaped mounting bracket for the awning
PAULETTE and "Two Cats and THE DOUG"

Whereabouts unknown...……...
