OK, so I'm putting my post back on the outdoor shower adventure...lol
Lessons Learned from my first outdoor shower with a shower tent, portable outdoor shower, and a 5-gallon bucket…
1. Ensure that you use all 4 tent stakes when setting up the shower tent. Three may not be enough to secure the tent to the ground in 26 MPH wind gusts. If not, be prepared to hold the tent down during said gusts.
2. Place table holding important items close enough to the tent to reach those items.
3. The tent is not going to hold the included hook for the shower head, especially not in the zipper opening in the top of the tent or the included “clothesline.” (Unless your tent is better than mine and has a special space for it?)
4. Face tent opening to the uphill side if you’re on even the slightest slope.
5. Place shower head inside the bucket when not using it to conserve water (when it has no on/off feature).
6. Don’t forget the outdoor mat you wanted to step onto outside of the shower tent.
7. If you forget to outdoor mat and forget to face the tent opening to the uphill side, just know that stepping on your t-shirt will result in it getting it wet.
Disclaimer: This is meant to be funny, not complaining.
I’m very happy with the outdoor shower! I can’t use my RV shower right now for multiple reasons. I swear I have used the RV shower less than 20 times since I’ve had this RV. I don’t like going other places to shower all the time and want to know I can be fairly self-sufficient.
Update (kinda): I've not used the outdoor setup again since this day. Mainly because the warm days never stay. I have used the bucket setup inside in my RV shower. One day I'll go back and get propane so I can use my RV shower as fully intended.
