Cool but I think a 3000 watt generator will be cheaper to run

Especially when they say about 4 days on a tankful!

$40-60k to power your rv is a little much for me

Yep, you can buy a lot of quiet generators for that kind of money.

But, not too many generators can pull a 5000 lb trailer!

Quote from article:

It's a shame the gas tank will only last 700 miles. I expect having to replace that gas tank every 700 miles will get expensive.

Hopefully the tank will have quick connect/disconnect fittings and be recyclable.

Sounds like something for a contractor who needs a pickup truck and a large generator on site.

Then fun times at the Dunes on off days.

What is interesting about this is it is a development. 7200 watts of power with built in intelligent charging/discharging and the ability to run high current power-tools and grid tie to 220 circuit and power your house in an emergency in a truck that has over 400ftlbs of torque and gets 20+ MPG. That is some next level technology.

The trickle down effect and the kick in the ass effect shouldn’t be discounted. The new trucks are getting “smaller” 2000 watt inverters this number used to be reserved for big camper inverter power. Ram came out with big screen, following Tesla and now so has ford. So better for consumer.

The 700 range tank is the comparison number. 1000 mile being the high capacity standard for extended overland journeys in South America etc. so they are close. Add a couple of Jerry cans and…

All in all a great step forward from ford. Expensive sure. New tech is expensive. 80 grand loaded and rolling is out of some peoples pocket but the fact it’s now in production means trickle down and others will do it and it will get cheaper. Can’t buy a Lada and expect it to roll like a Ram. This price complaint attached to stuff gets old. I want it better, faster, cheaper. Yeah it worked for computers. Don’t apply the same metric to everything else.
