OK for emergency storm outages ! BUT....
Don't plan on taking that to a campground or even in a group of boondockers....you won't be very popular........
stay tuned

yea, so agree Popeye. Out in the woods etc camping you only want that nice quiet....some of those darn gennys can be like being next to an airport HA
thankfully our Onan 4000 built into our rv is actually a quiet one but we rarely use it ya know...nice to have tho!

If you live on solar or without any power devices , that "guiet" onan is just as annoying........
Notice the campgrounds have "generator hours" ? That's why.
I try to be considerate even with my little Honda irregardless. Fortunately I have solar so rarely need it.
Now , if a hurricane or? has killed the grid , people would ENVY even the loudest genset.
stay tuned

I added the noisy but I'm sure it is thats why I love ONAN the run at 1/2 apeed 1800rpm & will take a car or tractor muffler. have electric choke so you can start 100+ feet away.

I have to say I walked our rv with genny running and it really is not a monster to be heard from from our site at all, in fact it stays on our site......any time I do speakers for outside radio etc or genny turned on we 'do that walk' to be sure the noise is contained...maybe just the placement of our Onan in the toyhauler makes it a good spot for dampening the noise or more? plus it does have a dampener around it in the compartment so?
But yea, all things are annoying as hell til ya need them Couldn't agree more on that one lol

Onan's are National Park approved. Unlike open frame generators. Open frame are great for new construction sites though.

I've been on both sides of this issue.
Three sides if you include campground staff...
Just making sure everybody in YARCLAND knows .
Also the cheaper MSW gens put out less than perfect sine wave power which some devices might not operate well on, or even just release the magic smoke....
The $300 genny could be a lifesaver for someone after a big storm as B/U for a medical device or just the fridge like happened to Blanch.
(Do a test on anything important to make sure it likes the power before it's an emergency situation....)
stay tuned
