109 here right now - I’m inside with one window AC, three fans, and two personal swamp cooler things. It’s all good as long as I don’t get an urge to cook. Decided a couple of days ago to make banana bread and that was a mistake - no more oven until fall.

If anyone is stuck in the desert in this heat hit me up, I have electricity and I don’t want anyone to die.

I’m good and fine - with all the snowbirds gone my Visible signal is screaming fast ( by visible standards).

Thanks Blanch , so nice of you to offer !
But do you have a 3000 mile extension cord ????
Skuh kuh kuh kuh
I noticed you didn't mention the pool in your cooling devices list.. How's it working out ?
I remember the water coming out of the plastic underground pipes at Furnace Creek was hot (well , really warm) enough to take a shower in ! I used my water heater as my cold tank though so it worked out! It was just 6 gallons of cold instead of hot !!

It was 86 here today humidity 61%
Beach day tomorrow , ocean temp was 60 today so you don't go into shock and drown if you fall in !

Could you box up some of that heat and save it for winter ?
I know lots of people uptah camp that would pay big time for a blast of that kinda heat around Feb 1st !

I don’t think it’s too terrible. I was out in it today and went down the road to the stone house to meet a contractor. It doesn’t look like we will ever get that house done to rent at our pace so we are looking at hiring out some of it.

Hope to get it done and rented this year.

Just looked at the weather. Looks like it was high of 92 and low of 72 today. The stone house has thick walls and elec isn’t turned on but it’s surprisingly not really hot in there. If you aren’t working then you won’t sweat. Whoever rents it will get a pretty good deal on heating and cooling.

I was out floating this evening - absolutely lovely….. I’m not much for people these last forevers …. but these desert stars - just damn!

I’ll see if I can find an extension cord long enough Popeye.

In Amargosa Valley, NV during the summer, I have never had to use the hot water heater for showering. There is no such thing as cool tap water.

The opposite would be January in Minneapolis. The city water system is kept circulating to prevent freezing in the pipes. Cold water can be below freezing out of the tap.

My least favorite thing about AZ and one of my favorite things about IL.

So I'm on the fence on this still, but I bought an air purifier (for cooking smells that linger and in hopes that it would help reduce the dust in the air, etc).

BUT... something I'm noticing is that the RV is staying cooler than before. Still on the fence because it's also not getting quite as hot (staying mostly in the high 80s) as before.

Anyone else have this experience? (I'm talking about a 2 to 4 degree difference on average.)
