There has been a recall of 1,700,000 jack stands sold at HF.
Look them up if you have bought some there.
A detail about them not holding up the load.

Whew, mine were bought long before 2013!

I saw that same recall post on another forum. The 3 ton and 6 ton versions. A loose fitting apparently, as opposed to poor quality steel. Fortunately, I don’t yet own any.

Of everything Harbor Freight sells, their jack stands is something i've always shy'd away from. I like them beefy and I'll spend a few extra bucks for a quality pair.

I own a pair of the 3 tonners that I bought several years ago...but I bought these as trailer stabilizers for my cargo trailer when it was parked at a campsite. I only used them one time when working under the trailer, to change out the axle.
Actually the pair that I have is not on the recall list, (it is on the voluntary refund list) and the nearest Harbor Freight is 55 miles away, so I'm in no hurry to exchange them for a $25 refund.

I have a pair of the 6 ton ones. Used to have a pair of cheap 1 1/2 ton stands from the 70's. Bought mine around 2003 (best guess) and my son still uses them. They are not on the recall list.

I was gifted some smaller AC Delco jackstands, which appear to be the same exact design, probably are, with grey and blue paint instead of puke orange/yellow.
They are not really tall enough for most of my van's jacking points anyway.

never trusted jack stands, prefer 4x6/6x6 wood blocks,if the vehicle can move when pushed on it's not secure enough for me to crawl under
