Nomadic Artist Passing Thru Texas (possible job)
#1
Cross posted from the 'other' board...no takers there so I thought I'd post it here:

If you are traveling thru Texas anytime this summer or fall and have verifiable artistic skills when it comes to painting, airbrushing, large murals, etc and you are traveling in an RV/van/camper/trailer of some sort, I would like to have some painting done here at my place, also known as Winford Station, in Tulia Texas.

I am about 50 miles south of Amarillo.

There are 4 or 5 outdoor surfaces that I would like to have some simple artistic landscape type murals with a few stylistic elements such as a Texas Flag, a sunset, and livestock such as horses, buffalo and other western themes, maybe a motorcycle or two, etc, painted on.

I will pay for your labor/artwork, and also buy the paint...I do not own a large airbrush or airless sprayer setup so if you are traveling with something like that, even better...but if needed I will buy the equipment and of course the pay would be adjusted accordingly.

I want to try to hire someone who is on the road if possible. If not, I will look for a local artist. There are several huge wall murals in this little town, here are a couple of local examples of what I would like done:

There is a place to park your rig and I will supply 15A or 30A electric and water hookup during the time that you are here...(probably about a week or so)

This location can easily accommodate most travel trailers, cargo trailers, RVs, truck campers, vans, and motorhomes that are not over about 35 feet or so. Any rig longer than that might have issues with driveway access.

This is a rural setting, very rustic, in a small town. No hustle and bustle here, only one grocery store and hardware store in town.

If interested, PM me for more info.

Thanks for reading.

Yep, there is a lot of that artwork all over town....I will start asking around to see if it was done by someone local and if so, how to get in contact with them.

In the meantime...I have a 500 gallon propane tank...it's white of course.

I'm thinking some bright yellow paint and some simulated portholes painted on would be amusing!

Might be good to hire local. It's often appreciated well beyond the value of the work.

Nope. I buy as local as I can, but I'm not awfully sociable. Was on the planning board for about ten years, but that was about it Wish I were better at that stuff, but well, nah. I'm just not.
