Aluminum trim water stains
#1
My truck box has white wrap plastic on top of the original Uhaul decals covering the entire box. Basically impossible to remove any of it. Problem is the aluminum trim that covers the bottom skirt around the box has blackish water stains on the white panels below that trim. Like the aluminum has oxidized and the rain water leaves the streaks below it.

Any ideas on what will remove the stains? I've tried basic household cleaners with no results.

IIRC there is  an RV product that is called Black Streak Remover . Never used it but it still might exist....

And it may be your ticket. Wink

The price online looks reasonable for a spray bottle. I think I saw a RV dealer around here so that's a phone call for sure.
Another obvious solution that I missed, TY.

steel wool and then a clear coat, rubbing compound or fine sandpaper should work too, spinning machines would make it easier

So a light went off and I remembered some SOS pads I had in a box. They still had some soap left in them and worked like a charm. I thought it might tear through the plastic wrap covering I was trying to clean but all it did was clean. Not easily though but the aluminum streaks eventually came off. I was in search of a chemical and turns out good old fashioned elbow grease worked. TY
