What is the oddest thing you travel with?

ME TOO, I LIKE 'EM.  I EVEN HAVE A PAIR OF LAVENDER ONES!

AT THE FUNERAL OF MY SON'S FATHER ONE OF HIS DAD'S CHILDHOOD FRIENDS CAME WITH HIS LITTLE BOY WHO LOOKED TO BE ABOUT 5ys OLD.  THEY WERE BOTH IN NEW DARK BLUE OVERALLS, MATCHING SHIRTS AND NEW WORK BOOTS.  MY SON AND I WERE GLAD TO SEE THEM AND WE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THEIR CLOTHING.
SOME OTHERS SEEMED TOO.  I THINK THEY FORGOT WHY WE WERE GATHERED

MY BEST GUY FRIEND FOR OVER 35 YEARS HERE IN AL WEARS OVERALLS SOMETIMES AND SO DO I.  MY MOM SEEMED TO HAVE SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY WHENEVER ONE OF US HAD THEM ON..

A FEW YEARS AGO I HAD ENOUGH.  HE WAS HERE AND MOM WAS DOING HER GRUMBLE/JUDGEMENTAL ROUTINE SO I REMINDED HER THAT HE'S OFTEN NAKED ON HIS PROPERTY & THAT I WAS SURE HE WOULD TAKE THEM OFF IF HE WAS ASKED.  SHE GAVE ME HER  STOCK
Angry  "I DON'T THINK THAT'S FUNNY ANSWER"   Angry

I NEVER HAVE UNDERSTOOD THIS CONCEPT OF JUDGING SOMEONE BY THEIR CLOTHING.  I JUST DRESS THE WAY I THINK IS APPROPRIATELY FOR THE OCCASION  & THAT SUITS ME.

GROWING UP I OFTEN HEARD  MAMA SAY '" IF SOMEONE DOESN'T LIKE WHAT YOU ARE ARE WEARING THEY SHOULD EITHER LOOK AWAY OR BUY YOU A NEW OUTFIT ".   I REMEMBER PAPA SAYING " I CAN WORSHIP GOD IN KHAKIS SITTING UNDER ONE OF HIS APPLE TREES AS WELL AS I CAN BY JOINING THE FASHION PARADE AT CHURCH ".
I KNOW PAPA HAD A "MONKEY SUIT" AS HE CALLED IT, HE JUST DIDN'T LIKE TO WEAR IT IN A TEXAS SUMMER IN A HOT BUILDING.

HE WAS A MASTER MACHINEST  AND AN INVENTOR.  HE WORE KHAKI SHIRTS AND PANTS TO WORK & KHAKI PANTS AND A SPORT SHIRT WHEN HE WAS OUT AND ABOUT.
SOMETIMES WHEN HE WAS QUESTIONED TO CLOSELY BY MAMA ABOUT WHERE HE WAS GOING HE OFTEN REPLIED
Big Grin  "WHY I'M OFF TO SEE THE LADY WRESTLER"
Rolleyes  I LEARNED MOST MY CUSSIN' FROM MAMA

I can’t bring myself to put them in the trash, that seems very disrespectful to my mother who kept them all these years. I’m thinking of a ceremonial fire to send them to the heavens. Maybe I’m a bit weird, but a fire I control and say goodbye, trash just sits in a landfill somewhere.

BLANCH IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO THEN I THINK YOU SHOULD.  IT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD WAY FOR CLOSURE.

I'M SUCH A KEEPER OF THINGS.  I WAS THINKING ABOUT A SMALL PICTURE FRAME WITH A SNIPPET OF EACH DRESS MOUNTED AGAINST A FABRIC OF EITHER YOUR MOM'S OR YOUR FAVORITE COLOR, OR SOME OF BOTH INSIDE IT.

I'M A KEEPER AND ALSO VERY TACTILE ABOUT STUFF.  I LIKE THE WAY THINGS FEEL AND SMELL.   ESPECIALY ITEMS THAT WERE A GIFT OR BELONGED TO SOMEONE I CARE ABOUT.  THAT'S JUST ME AND THE WAY I AM.

OF COURSE I THINK YOU NEED TO BE TRUE TO YOURSELF.  IMO WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE WILL BE THE RIGHT THING FOR YOU.

TJ, Mr. X Snik’s family is a bunch of rednecks. When Mr. X Snik’s aunt died his Uncle and his 15 kids showed up - guys in sport coats or suits and white shirts. It was June. Hot out, too. There was a bit of a gathering. None of them would take off the jackets. They were burning up. Mr. X Snik’s mother bullied them until they took off their jackets. Their names were on the backs of the white shirts. Bowling shirts.

Lots of men wear overalls around here. I like them also. I have court coming up on the 15th that is supposed to last the whole week.... I’m going to have to buy “suitable” clothes so I don’t wear the same slightly suitable one decent outfit I have every day. Perhaps I should just get overalls...

CAMMALU!

AS LONG AS NEITHER MY BOOBS OR BUTT IS HANGIN' OUT<<<<  Huh I'M SUITABLE FOR THE OCCASION!

MAYBE IT'S A TEXAS THING, HOWEVER I OFTEN WEAR NICE JEANS <<<<< NO RIPS, HOLES ETC. WITH A DRESS UP BLOUSE AND NICE SANDALS.

TO ME I'M NEAT CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE, LOOK NEAT AND I'M PRESENTABLE TO OTHERS.  IF ANYONE DOESN'T LIKE THE WAY I LOOK THEY CAN ALWAYS BOTH LOOK AND WALK AWAY.

IF YOU'LL FEEL BETTER WITH A DIFFERENT WARDROBE JUST GO FOR IT!  WHATEVER YOU'LL FEEL BETTER DOING IS THE THING FOR YOU. Wink

clothes mean nothing truly when judging a person to me
but it is nice when people DO put some effort into looking nice and suit the occasion at hand Smile

I can't think of anything odd that i've ever traveled with.  Maybe all of it just seemed normal to me.  But at a rest area, I did see a Jeep with a stuffed vulture clamped to the roof rack.  If someone had been in it, I would have asked if there was a story behind it.
