stove heat shield
#1
i am having issues coming up with something

requirements are 2x2,not shinny, not painted, would prefer something decorative

havent came across and electric oven yet to steal the inside
could just use high heat paint but that would need to burn off and would just be a bid black square
tin ceiling tiles are the right size but shinny and spendy
porcelain sign, not sure if what i am seeing for sale is actual porcelain or just enamel paint and at 2x2 they get spendy, could get the smaller 1x1 or old license plates and mount them to some sheet metal but would need to be porcelain to handle the heat

about ready to just use corrugated tin until i come across something

any thoughts?

Not sure what your doing but the ambo has lots of diamont plate polished aluminum which I like & buy for $60 for a 4x8. They have smaller but I use it  quite often. 5/8 drywall is  fire code if you need it behind the diamond plate.

How about the skin off an old washer, dryer, fridge? Those used to be porcelain.

You want cheap, take an old oven rack and cover it with tin foil and either use some kind of standoff or just lean it against the wall. Available at a scrap yard near you. They make gold and copper decorative foil too.

Home Depot sells 1x2 pieces of sheet metal. They are cheap. Buy two and screw them together? They also have decorative pieces that could be overlaid to spiff it up a bit.
