I've tried turkey bacon twice in my life, both times it was on sale. The first time, it tasted exactly like real bacon. The second time, and possibly a different brand, it was horrible.
Maybe if you get the right brand, it might be okay, but after my second try, and not knowing what brand the first try was, I've sworn off it permanently. Seems like I wound up with turkey ham steaks once upon a time too, and to my surprise, I couldn't tell the difference between it and a regular ham.

Wal Mart <<<< I think has a peppered turkey pastrami that I liked. Just so much pepper on it I'd have to rinse it off.

This was Oscar Meyer Selects uncured. On sale. I'm going to fry some up in bacon grease. That ought to fix it.

Bacon is bacon and turkey is turkey. Pigs don't fly and turkeys don't coat themselves in mud.
Some of the combinations the so-called 'food' industry comes up with makes me wonder if they're priming us for Soylent Green.

Turns out turkeys don’t fly either.
WKRP in Cincinatti did a show on it....but, it a radio station actually did throw turkeys out of a helicopter for thanksgiving one year. They don’t fly. The ensuring bloodbath was not what the promotion was planning. But....funny. The closing line in the show was...”as god is my witness, I really thought turkeys could fly”.

Next county east of me has a fall shindig called Turkey Trot. Part of the festivities is taking live turkeys up in an airplane and turning them loose. The turkeys' heads are covered on the way up to keep them calm. The hood comes off just prior to leaving the aircraft. While they cannot technically fly, they are great gliders. Unfortunately, it appears that ignorance is having it's way.
