cybersecurity for Muggles & Geeks
#1
The cybersecurity website I always recommend to both Muggle and Geek friends is:
https://krebsonsecurity.com/

The author is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and Muggle, not-a-Geek. Yes, he knows how to communicate well. Smile
He has earned the respect of the Geek Community, and gets enthusiastic technical support for his work.

He mostly writes about useful stuff, including:
  • ATM/gas skimmers
  • identity theft
  • credit freezes

He has a recent, very detailed article (with some scary real examples) on credit freezes:
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2018/09/in-a...-fee-free/
Timely key point:
Quote:thanks to a federal law enacted earlier this year, after Sept. 21, 2018 it will be free to freeze and unfreeze your credit file

Apparently some people have been able to do the free freeze earlier than that date. I'll be doing it, soon.

Oh. Dang.
USPS had a security breach:

Remind me to post a review of their informed delivery thing.
Preview: It's less than stellar, with several major misses (solely in my experience).
