METAL DETECTING & PROSPECTING

We will see if he gets interested again. He's had a pretty bad allergic reaction this weekend since going out with me. We think it's more the stray cat, but he is getting tested later this month (finally).

I don't mind the junk. An old nail is still old. My dad keeps telling me about where things were way back before. So weird to think this area had a hospital even! I know the "house" building that was the bank. Someone actually still lives in the house. Oh, and my parents still own an old store building (been closed for years/run down). I'm going to metal detect around it before they sell it later this year.

I told my grandson about a video I watched...a guy went to a playground and found around $2 in change. He thought that was brilliant...lol

TL;DR: Hurricane Laura uprooted some trees and artifacts were found, possibly dating back to the ice age.

There are at least 2 big trees uprooted on the 10 acres. New spots to metal detect and explore.

Absolutely do it !!
Check out the site historic aerials for old maps and cool overlay features . Might be able to tell by looking at how far back you can spot your place. OR dating what you find . The research can be interesting too.
Gonna try to get the White's to fire up or just getting something new ?

My dad has been playing on his toy (tractor) and clearing out some trails through the 10 acres. So it's about time to get my toy out and try some more detecting. The weather is much cooler. I think our highs are right at 80 most days. We have had some cooler nights/mornings, but nothing too unbearable yet.

We are still under a burn ban, so we can't burn all the tree tops that make it difficult to get everywhere, but still plenty of spaces to check out.
