I've used it twice and here's what I've noticed...

It's not really low smoke, but it doesn't blow anywhere but up. The ash pan isn't really a pan, you lift it up the inside piece and ashes fall and blow everywhere. I've enjoyed the times I've used it. I used mostly twigs and branches from the yard and it was a quick fire (20-30 minutes) so I'll be trying it out again when it cools off (fall??) with a better supply of wood.

The price was better than a solo stove, but I have no comparison with the real thing.

Link not wanting to stay together, so here's just a quick view:

Ridgid drill/driver kit with 2, 2.0AH batteries

I had a 18v Makita Kit, the white and black models, for about a decade, but the batteries became nearly completely worthless in the last 18 months, and 2 new actual Makita batteries cost 80% the cost of a new drill driver kit with new batteries. Was not going to risk the generic battery replacements.

So, I was using an ancient old Craftsman 9.6v drill, with ~8 feet of 12AWG, to my 18 or 22AH AGM batteries via APP's for any task requiring strength and duration, but the 18Ag AGM battery is 11 Lbs and the cord gets annoying.
Gobs of torque and torque for days though.
The motor could pull as much as 35 amps.
Its showing its age and abuse, but made the cut in the move, the Makita's didnt.

So new drill and driver needed.
Basically dedicating to a battery system, although there are now adapters to use one tool's batteries in another brand tool.

I had it narrowed my decision to Dewalt, or Ridgid.
The 20v Dewalt kit was 20$ more and comes with 1.3AH batteries, the Ridgid 18v kit comes with 2.0AH batteries.

Beware of marketing. In the US, the battery pack can be rated at its full charge voltage, instead of the nominal voltage of the cells within. In South Africa for instance, Dewalt's battery has to be called 18v, in the USA they call it 20v. Both ridgid and dewalt use 5, 18650 cells, in series.

Ridgid also has the 'lifetime service agreement', meaning if one registers it properly within 90 days of purchase, they fix it free, for original owner, forever, and dead batteries, replaced for free too whether failed or just worn out and no more capacity.

I thought what other cordless tools that I might like to acquire in the future, and checked out what was available between the two brands. I also checked out additional battery prices, and Ridgid has 2, 4.0 Ah battery deal going, for 99$, which is far less than Dewalt's offerings, or pretty much any other brand.

So, I Figured I go Ridgid. I used a Ridgid contractor's Tablesaw at a friend's workshop, and liked it far more than my Makita contractor's tablesaw.
Another friend had the Ridgid heavy ass iron top workshop tablesaw, and it was almost dreamy to use after the portable models.

I've own a corded Ridgid jigsaw for 6+ years now, and like its design and function, though I never bothered to register it for the LSA.

I had no experience with cordless Ridgid products

So the Kit arrives 2 days after ordering, via fedex.
The impact driver's gearbox seems a bit loud and gritty, but had no issues driving 45 3.5 inch screws into old hardened treated lumber.
The drill's trigger is a bit weird, At first I though it was a delay, but more recently realized the first 1/4 inch of movement illuminates the light, and after that range it responds instantly. Takes some getting used to after the instant response of the other drill's triggers, that I am used to.

I don't know why they insist in 6500K+ blueish LEDS. I'd understand if they were super bright, but I find the output a bit lacking and far too blue.

The batteries are not really a super tight fit in the drill/driver.

The battery charger's wall wart says 18v, 60 watt output, but voltage has to go as high as 21v to fully charge 5 18650 in series.

I drained the batteries to 1 of 4 bars, down in to the 17.3vDC range, split the wire and used my clampmeter to see how much amperage it allowed the batteries to feed on. 2 amps exactly, lets assume 21 volts, and 42 watts.

Should take about an hour to fully charge a dead battery to full, but I did not drain completely, nor charge until the charger quit, nor use a timer.

My Makita charger was bulky, had a noisy fan for force flow feed the battery, and would draw far more than 40 watts via my PSW inverter IIRC, but was 15 minute charger too.

Anyway, I don't think the Ridgid has the fit and finish of the Makita's I owned, but I spent more on them 10+ years ago, than the Ridgids 3 weeks ago.

My Makita drill developed gearbox issues, and at the end needed new brushes, but with the capacity free batteries and weird intermittent gearbox issue, i just gave up on the drill entirely rather than order 8$ of brushes and install them.

The Ridgid did not come with the handy hooks to hang on a belt, or waist band or pocket, but I ordered some cheap generics.

Been contemplating a leaf/jobsite blower. Ridgid offers 3.

While comparing the three, I saw that the two ,4.0Ah battery deal for 99$, was now 79$, for the next 5 days.

When traveling we stopped at a Hipcamp site for the night. Was lovely only having one campsite there, so it was very peaceful.

We have been using our Gas One combination butane / propane stove for about a year now. We normally use it inside the van for heating water for coffee or in the event of rain we might cook a bit inside. The butane canisters are a bit hard to find when traveling so we stock up when we can. I really don't notice a huge difference in price between propane green bottles and the butane. While we have never used the Gas One on propane, it is nice knowing if we run out of butane we can switch over to propane. Safety mechanisms seem to work excellent on the unit. Easy to keep clean and store. Under 50.00 works great for a nice portable stove.

Sitting next to the Gas One is our Bluetti EB70 for 12V DC power. We rarely use anything requiring 110v so the little 716wh unit keeps things running. I will get into our testing and setup with the Bluetti's in another post.

By the time I realized it I was almost to the Ozark fort Rucker gate on a four-lane road with no way to turn around right by helicopter landing field. By the time I got back to the Shell station there was no sign in my telephone.

I went to Walmart the next day and purchased a Motorola that I can't find the friggin box at the moment it's a Motorola g something piece of ugly word ugly word. <<<< I'm trying to clean up my ACT but it's very very hard... Boost<<I said m o s t Of the time. It doesn't hold the settings it doesn't retain my pin it doesn't retain my voicemail password I have spent hours almost every day since I've had it dealing with the automated Verizon system. They say since I purchased the phone through whatever company it is that set up in some of the Walmarts now that actually front for different ones that they don't have anything to do with the phone being a problematic I need to return the phone. Also I signed on for a all you know everything and it was unlimited this that and the other and it was supposed to be $70 a month. I bought the phone on July 9th. Week ago I got a message that my current phone bill due on August 1st was $125 and some odd sense. It wasn't until last night that a Verizon customer service tech was actually able to get me into the account reset everything and it's still working first time in all this time that the settings have lasted from one day to the other.

Basically the phone has got some major malfunction that nobody will take responsibility for and I really don't care for Verizon after I've got in with them. So shortly I am going to get ready and go up to Walmart and buy me a phone and buy me a card I don't know which one of them to use I have a friend that's been on straight talk for a long time. So if anybody has any suggestions PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

PS. I AM TRYING TO GET MY DEFECATION IN ORDER AND GO UP TO KENTUCKY HOPEFULLY BY THE END OF SEPTEMBER OR THE MID PART I DON'T REALLY REMEMBER.

PS. I AM TRYING TO GET MY DEFECATION IN ORDER AND GO UP TO KENTUCKY HOPEFULLY BY THE END OF SEPTEMBER OR THE MID PART I DON'T REALLY REMEMBER.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Tachometer-Laser-Photo-Non-Contact-RPM-Tach-Meter-Motor-Speed-Gauge-New/352658232690?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225118%26meid%3D0d86616554514d87b872fbb82a0b8052%26pid%3D100935%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D274331803325%26itm%3D352658232690%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithDarwoV3BBEV2b&_trksid=p2332490.c100935.m2460

It came a few days ago and I took another day to unbox and test it.

One is supposed to cut off a reflective piece of tape, attach it to whatever is rotating, then Aim the device at it, where a 'laser' is supposed to reflect off the sticker and the device count the revolutions.

Mine has no red laser/LED
It reads zero.
I took my IR temp gun, which does have a laser, held it side by side with the unit, aimed it at reflective sticker, and then it reads the rpm.

The seller insulted me by saying perhaps I installed the battery backwards, which is impossible as the slots for the + and - of the 9v battery are different width, and/or they assumed I was just using it incorrectly, cant read directions, or cannot grasp simple concepts.

I guess in this day and age they have to assume absolute overwhelming ignorance and vapid stupidity of the consumer, and they'd be fools to assume otherwise, as just think how stupid the average person is, then understand half of the rest of them are even more so.

I was wanting this device primarily to see just how fast that 320 amps Leece Neville alternator is spinning via the Auxiliary drive pulley on the detroit diesel at idle, and of course fans, the Leece was the excuse to finally purchase.

I told seller I'm willing to try and fix it, but they better not assume I am a knuckledragging idiot who can't figure out how to press a button and aim a light at a spinning reflective sticker again.

If it worked as described I'd be pretty happy, and I can still make it work if I put my IR temp gun right next to it and aim its laser at the sticker. Honestly I want to just fix it if possible, perhaps just a fractured or missing solder joint on the LED or laser. Kind of doubt it is an actual laser, but I guess its possible.

I'm kind of interested to see just how much slower a dirty fan spins than a clean fan at the same exact voltage. The tach opens up all sorts of new data collecting and potential experiments.

My balancing of fans is usually using a small piece of tape on the fan hub. The reflective tape for the tach might have to take over that task. Should be interesting to see amp draw and rpm of a balanced fan vs unbalanced one at the same voltage.

All hail actual Data.

The research that I have done did not turn up any bad side effects of its use on people. The possibility of getting pain relief without surgery or drugs is quite appealing to me.

Does anyone here have any experience with this?
Good, bad, or no difference?
Please don’t go off on any anti government rant or conspiracy theory. (Already heard them all) This is to deal with the possible effects.

Have had this ‘Viking” branded unit for 5 months now, using it about twice monthly on one thing or another. The digital display is only 3 numbers (12.2 not 12.20) so a bit inaccurate but it does match the cheap red HF multimeter on voltages. Operation is easy, it auto senses 6/12v and has manual screen setup for FLA, AGM or GEL.

It also came with a handy-dandy direct plug with alligator clamps or a 3/8” closed loop wired tip for going onto the battery bolt. That’s handy as you can permanently install the latter onto the battery and then use the quick-disconnect/attach to hook up the little charger.

It’s basically as big as a common brick but 1/2 the weight. From the pic up top you can see the size relative to a riding mower battery.

Cost was $34 on sale with the 20% coupon which made it appx $30 after taxes. You can get their standard 10/2 amp non digital display charger for about $2-3 more when it’s on sale but I wanted the voltage display and will sacrifice the extra amps to have it.

I live in a Minneapolis suburb and have had no speed issues. I will be traveling to Washington state in a few days and it will be a good test for coverage. Even though they state that the tethered speed is limited to 5Mb/s, my tethered speed is not capped yet. As stated, you can only connect one device at a time to the hotspot. To get around this I connect to a GL-AR150 travel router which allows me to connect multiple devices. It's available on Amazon for $26.50." It cost $26.50 but has a 35% off coupon so it now costs $17.22. I have one coming & thought it might be useful to other Visible or other brand users.

Hi all,

This is day 2 of their 3 day Black Friday sale. I was picking up some things and noticed the 3 in 1 jump pack down to its lower price range of $34.97, the 2/10/25 Centek 12v battery charger at $29.99 and lots of stocking stuffers. Just go onto their HF website and click on the ad. I also saw battery puck lights 3/$4.97. Who knows what else they have you’d like to try.

My son wanted 6 and 12” spreader clamps for woodworking, they were half the price of Lowes sale clamps and he likes the HF ones, so I bought him some (12” were just 2.99 each and you can still use your 20% coupon on 1 item).

Happy shopping!
