I ordered two east Penn deka 1000 amp batteries.
They will be a huge improvement from the two 550 amp
Interstate batteries I have now.

I have not checked the charging voltage at the battery, but
After running the generator several hours, the next morning the batteries are low and won't start the generator. I never had any problems before the cold weather got here.

The batteries are right years old, and I doubt they were properly taken care of before I got the rv.

need to see around 14.7 volts charging or your not going to get them charged correctly and kill them quicker

it's a symbiotic relationship,it doesn't matter how good your charging is if your batteries are to big.little or dead and it doesn't matter how good your batteries are if your charging is to big, little or dead

Starting batteries are rated in cold cranking amps. Ability to.turn a starter motor when cold.
Deep cycle.batteries are rated in amp.hours. a measure storage.
Marine batteries are rated with cca mca and amp hour.

1000 amp' batteries makes no sense without a marine cranking or cold cranking in front of 'amps'

1000 certainly is not amp hours.

Perhaps.marine cranking amps.on group 24 might be 1000

But big cranking amps.mean nothing in a deep cycle application.

The heavier battery with lesser cca has thicker more durable.plates in deep. Ycle.duty. high cca no ampnhour rating is a starting battery.

A starting battery in deep cycle.duty is doomed to an early demise

I also ordered a 15 amp smart charger,
I'm going to do as much as I can to make
these new batteries last as long as possible.

I got my new batteries, and smart charger.
They are East Penn Deka batteries, and
are rated at 1000 amps at 32 degrees, and
800 amps at zero degrees.

I'm going to charge them both, and install them this weekend.

Starting batteries are cheaper though. To get you through a year or two may be worth it.
