From the SSA
There is a new program called Promoting Opportunity Demonstration = POD. www.PODSSA.org
It states in the info that names were randomly chosen for a survey. Also that the POD program will be in select areas in 8 states AL, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, NE, & TX & Vermont. I can't help but wonder why those states and the areas in them?
The "Baseline Questionnaire" is from/by Mathematica Policy Research who it says is conducting a study for the Social Security Administration. You even get a $25 check for completing & returning the survey. The survey and program participation are "voluntary". This it not something I read on the internet. I know someone who has received this program info in a big white envelope with a return address to:
Social Security Administration
50309
PO Box2393
Princeton NJ 08543-2393
I've read thru it all 2 or 3 times. It reminds me of the "Ticket To Work" program. Both are for people that draw SSDI benefits & want to be able to work some. It can affect a persons benefits, there are some variables involved.
I am very happy that I now draw straight SS benefits.
This new program reminds me of some of the rules that folks on SSI and also those rules for the Ticket To Work programs have to deal with. A lot of variables to deal with yearly if not on a monthly basis.
So I'm just passing along this info. This may not be the place for it.
I will not kick up a fuss if it's moved, deleted or stuck right.........back in the ozone from whence it appeared.
JewellAnn
P.S. I'd post this on C heap RV L iving if I knew how to copy it over there. They seem to have a lot of newbies that might be able to use the info, I don't know how to double post so Gary or a Mod feel free if you want to. I'm just not up to writing the whole thing twice.
