After hearing 1st hand accounts of a vandeweller snowbird who spent most of the last winter in the parking lot of the Riverside casino I have no idea why anyone would go to BF Egypt Q.

The ability for me to make unreportable income at the cash poker tables at eight casinos in just a .5 mile long strip is the big draw.

And then there is the ability to buy legal rec weed, a vast variety of live musical entertainment, and a riverfront public park with shade across the river in AZ with Walmart, Dollar Stores, and Anytime Fitness.

Why anyone would spend the winter anywhere else in the Southwest (unless they are truly destitute and/or are in the Kool-aid cult) is beyond my comprehension.

Camaraderie. I had a good time in Q over the winter. I also have the UTV so I was able to really get out into the desert and visit old gold mines, look at the scenery, old Indian ruins, lots of flea markets, etc. it was fun.

Gold prospecting. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I personally don't gamble so a casino would make no sense to me. I've never stepped one foot inside of one. I did park overnight at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville Oklahoma on a few occasions because they had big truck parking and a convenient store next to the lot. Most of the truck stops in Louisiana have casinos attached to them but again, never went inside.

No interest in playing poker at one casino, let alone eight. Little to no interest in cities and their dirt and bullshit, any more. I hope to get to know better and become ever better friends with the people I spent last winter with. And, amazingly, we all know how to drive away and go elsewhere for awhile. Maybe even Las Vegas! I know exactly where to get good weed, and except for the border guys, who'll nail you anywhere, the last time I worried about being busted was close to 50 years ago. So, yeah, I'll take Q.

Beyond comprehension.

Sometimes you never get it, and others have all the fun.

I prefer fresh air and real world thrills to sitting around pulling on a handle breathing second hand smoke.

Friends, campfires and campfire stories, sunsets and sunrises, wide open spaces, flea markets, rocks and minerals, photography, sunshine, clean air, lots of ghost towns and old mines to explore, hiking trails, riding my bike ( whenever the doctor says I am allowed to do it again) , and best of all is Lis’s famous lemon cake!

We are all different. These are my reasons to go to Q.

I get where the OP is coming from.
While not a gambler myself, I do take advantage of casino’s for their (not so cheap anymore but not too badly priced) reduced cost meals, ability to park for free, availability of a show or other recreation, and safety. I also am not social, and thus will likely never attend a Q event.

I have spent a great deal of time camped out in club and venue lots.
Many of them in a city .
Back then it was real close to my work....just like you're doing now.
So I really understand the plus side for you.
Laughlin is cool place to visit . And I know it's too small to be a city even in a dream.
You're still in the desert there too.
BUT
Just on noise alone ! ... no contest for me...
Now add in the wide open spaces where you can just pick your campsite , wonderful views , about a trillion more stars at night... new friends to share it with .Maybe a BBQ , hiking , hunting for gold .
Me and Poncho will just stay out in the desert cuz we too sexy for our shirts....

It's getting harder to write without adding lyrics.......guess it's time to get out the tape deck again...

Yeah, that makes for a great bikini trim.  I think if I was gonna head to Laughlin I'd probably take in Telephone Cove for a week.  7 day stay max and that's enough to show off my new trim I suppose.

The idea of camping at Telephone Cove from Monday thru Thursday night when there will be few locals there and asphalt camping at a casino from Friday thru Sunday night when all the low hanging fruit rubes are in town would be a great schedule. On Monday I could make a stop in Bullhead city for Walmart, Fuel etc.
