If someone was adventurous and handy with a soldering iron they could purchase a 12 volt compressor unit and build their own a/c unit in some out of the way place.  I could see doing this just to cool off the sleeping area if you had a way to separate your sleeping area from the rest of your vehicle.  I can deal with heat if I'm up and doing stuff but trying to sleep in the heat is miserable.  This might be difficult to get repair parts.

I wonder if this link will work for you across the pond

Why is this stuff not available in the land with all the money? My builder can use the Truma Combi water/heat but can't buy the diesel version only propane. He has tried and they won't sell it to him. He is Canada's only dealer. Claim lack of dealer support for repairs. I am bringing back one already. They have to be the quietest units on the market hardly hear it when it comes on. But why AC is only built for Europe.

Why is double pane windows standard in Europe rigs?

I still wouldn't mind something like this. More cooling for less watts pulled by a 6000 BTU

Hmmm? I know I said I don't want anything on the roof but this is smallish wouldn't compromise too much of the roof? I like the stats for sure and its cheap enough to be a not bad test.
I wonder if they ship overseas?
Thanks for the help everyone.

I found it using anti-idling CARB required for transport.

So NOT CHEAP but... YOU CAN HAVE IT GOOD CHEAP AND FAST. So long as you pick only one!!

I'll take my little energy-star window A/C over all that rigging any day.
