Buying from the Amish or another local organic producer is great. No matter how smart people think they are, they're not going to outsmart Mother Nature.
I was just reading that some non-profit company did a random testing of average people, and 93% showed Glyphosate* (aka Roundup herbicide) in their urine. (I don't know how/where they did this, but I'm visualizing a table at a shopping mall with a few people in white coats asking passersby if they would mind peeing in a cup for them.)
About 10 years ago, the average newborn baby popped out of it's mother with more than 200 foreign chemicals in it's body. It's probably more, now.
THEY'RE RUINING THE BACON, I TELL YOU! And I've never heard or read about anyone around here selling organic bacon. **sob** Actually, there's very little organic anything around here.
* Genetically-modified crops can't exist without herbicides. About 300 million pounds of glyphosate are applied to crops in the U.S. every year. Some countries (like Poland) won't even allow it in their country.
