I had also misread the OP, and thought that Gary was opening up a politics subforum. I would have avoided that sub forum like the plauge, just as I completely tune out any conversation where one starts talking politics, or religion.
Politics are not really believing one thing or another, it is about reinforcing one's own shaky beliefs by sheer repetition, and getting others to agree, that what they have been led to believe, is actually how things are.
it is little more than a weak "Please tell me I am right!"
I hate politics, politicians, and any political discussion. I'd also prefer to not know the political leanings of any other person. On some other forums, there were some posters who really knew their stuff on a particular subject, and I respected their words, but then they could not hold back their political opinions on subject X, and I could no longer put much weight to their words from there on out, even if it was on the subject that i previously thought they knew their shit. They still know thier shit, on that particular subject, but....do they really? A few delusional words on politics or religion and I tend to ignore any of their writings from there on out, right or wrong.
Keep thy religion and thy politics to thyself, as thy opinions are not facts, no matter how many times you repeat them, nor how strongly you believe, or whatever reasoning has led you to have such strong feelings on subject X.
As far as somebody whining that they no longer want to be part of a forum which might have a membership which leans left or right, well adios futhermucker. Good riddance. Just leave, Asking that somebody else go through a bunch of effort for their account/posts to be deleted, is little more than a petulant foot stomping.
