After a weekend of bed rest and sitting around the tire shop all day yesterday, it's nice to have a "it's too windy to work" day. I am too far behind to take yet another day to recover from my not cov...

John and Camilla had a few issues going on. First of which they came to me asking about a outlet getting hot running a convection oven while on the generator. Both the generator and a Magnum inverter/...

I'm just getting the magic truck thinned out again. It's almost to the point that I am glad when people show up without everything they need. I used up 10 ft of 4/0 and a bunch of lugs installing four...

That's a 800 watt generator, the same one I had when I came out here. I love mine although it needs a carb job after a sweet little old lady put bad gas in it. Still that was after three years of use,...

Xantrex is the brand I chose to suggest to my customers due to the customer service I saw a customer receive the first year I was out here. Their 600 watt pure sine wave is $158.88 I have suggested...

highdesertranger, aka HDR or as I knew him, my friend Mike passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease today. I was lucky enough to meet and hang out with Mike at my first RTR in 2017. We shared camp at t...

This 4 into 1 branch connector is rated for 50 amps. Most are rated for 30 amps and pushing them to their limit and even more so exceeding it melts them. The same is true for 10 gauge. You might n...

You are making it extra complicated in my opinion. You have more risk with that many connections than anything, not to mention the rats nest of wires. Plus in a safety concept the circuit breakers wou...

Open circuit voltage on each of those 250w panels is 37.6v and working is only 30.3v. I would not run all four in series but 2 and 2 would be fine. All four in parallel is 33 amps and 30.3 volts. 2 ...

I generally suggest a surface mount circuit breaker on the positive line right before the controller in my builds. Normally for 10 gauge I go for 30-40 amp depending on the output of the combined pan...
