Sealing Marker Lig - Gunny - 01-18-2018 Since I have this extra time to sit at the table with the heater aimed at me and nothing to do, I asked one of the maintenance men to check my marker lights. Two burned out and rusted out inside so I am going to replace all of them. What is best to seal the things? I know silicone is out but what do you all recommend? I’m not doing the work, just supplying the parts...and staying warm. Rob RE: Sealing Marker Lig - Blacktank - 01-18-2018 the good ones will have a gasket, the cheapies i got didnt i used sikaflex 221 on the mounting surface around the the screw and wire holes and then a exterior bead around it RE: Sealing Marker Lig - shadow - 01-24-2018 When I replaced the lights on the front of my rv, I used a layer of butyl tape on the back of the lights, and once they were screwed into place I sealed around them with Dicor. My lights didn`t come with a gasket, and I wouldn`t have used it anyway. The gaskets break down in a short time and cause leaks. RE: Sealing Marker Lig - Gunny - 01-25-2018 That’s exactly how they installed mine. I haven’t checked them out at night yet but the LED’s should look nice Rob |
