I've always like this idea. If you have a very limited space build like a van, pickup or suv building a camp kitchen trailer might be an option. Small and lightweight and can be pulled by just about any vehicle.

Ah, good ole Mother Earth News. They have been coming up with great stuff like this for decades.
The kitchen trailer is a good idea, leaving your living quarters clear of normal kitchen clutter, while allowing a full on kitchen while traveling.

A chuck wagon, I love it! I'm going to try and keep two strict rules in my van, no open flame and no glass. When it rains, it's cooking out under a tarp or lots of no-cook, raw food.

Probably could make one really cheap too. Find an old boat trailer someone is selling on CL, shorten the tongue and remove the slide rails and you now have a decent build platform. Instead of using plywood for the shell, think reused and stained pallet wood maybe on the diagonal, stained to bring out the grain. Might could build one of these for just a couple hundred dollars if you were frugal and scavenged materials. Then think of the conversations you'd have talking to folks that walk up to check it out.

Pallet wood (southern yellow pine) is actually quite heavy ,splinters and cracks easily and probably soaked with crap that won't take stain evenly .
Consider that before you collect a bunch of pallets.....
I know , the price sure is right though.

Make sure you use the HT stamped pallets if you use them. Heat Treated instead of chemical treated. After I took all the nails out I'd probably run them thru my planer to reduce the thickness a bit and give the wood a new surface but that's just me.

There are lots of cool versions of those, but I'm thinking of all the instances when standing outside to cook isn't practical. Weather being the big one, but also parked in rest areas, Walmarts, etc. For a camping trip it would be cool, but long term or full time, it would be very limiting.
