Chocolate Gravy anyone? - Gr8ful - 01-13-2020

Anyone ever have chocolate gravy? I was born in Michigan & back then you could only get good bisquits & gravy from someone raised in the south. A real treat was a plate of chocolate gravy covering good southern style bisquits. I've had them in restaurants in Ten where my dad was from origanly, my Mom was born in southern Alabama but soon moved to New Orleans & learned to speak french before english. I just wondered if anyone here ever enjoyed it. Thanks!

I have never heard of chocolate gravy. It sounds almost as good as butter and honey on a biscuit.

I’ll try it. Mikey likes it, sounds good to me. What else goes good with chocolate gravy?. French toast?  I wonder if bananas go good with chocolate gravy? Is Mole similar to chocolate gravy? I was only in Tenn for a week and dont remember seeing the gravy. I don’t remember seeing any health food shops either.

Red Eye gravy is where when done frying country cured ham you pour black hot coffee in the cast iron skittet & mix it & the ham drippings together. Totally different but just as good. I just found a recipe for red eye gravy  https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/country-ham-with-redeye-gravy-56389462
And one for chocolate gravy as well  https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/187298/southern-style-chocolate-gravy/  ENJOY!
