Living in my car - Snikwahjm - 05-03-2019 It is an experiment to see if I can do it... Sleeping. Well except the curtains fall down after 5 seconds. Forget curtains. The car was not level. Good thing the back door was shut. I had to crawl up to the top every once in a while. Otherwise I sort of slept. Peeing. Nope. Nope. Nope. The potty box... If I can get on it the aim is off. If I turn the box the aim is still off but my feet can go on the floor instead of by my butt... if I raise the box I can’t fit my head in the car. Out the window? Open the doors? Pooping... Walmart is a long way off... Shower. Forget shower. Use baby wipe. Do not eat granola on your bed... just don’t. Ventilation. Bugs. Rain. Nah. Smother..... do not change clothes in a car... see curtains ^^^ Ok I lasted two nights so far. Argh. It might be time for the long ride home followed up by a search for a bigger rig. RE: Living in my car - Queen - 05-03-2019 I’m in awe of anyone who can car sleep, I assume they are either tiny or young or both.
RE: Living in my car - Snikwahjm - 05-03-2019 Did I mention my car is a Honda FIT? RE: Living in my car - GotSmart - 05-03-2019 A Honda Don’t fit. RE: Living in my car - weigh2ez - 05-03-2019 You'd certainly have to be younger and smaller than me. RE: Living in my car - Kaylee - 05-03-2019 Shorter is better. ![]() I'm middle-aged, and managed it, thanks to being short. A sleeping pad helps a lot. The back cushions are good, but the bumps are problematic. Even the blue closed cell pad is a big improvement. I used a plain cotton fitted sheet to create a mini tent out of the back seat. Just hook the corners to the backs of the front seats, and the corners of the back row. Bravo for trying!
RE: Living in my car - Kaylee - 05-03-2019 Did you sleep in your day clothes, or did you change into pajamas or similar? That does make a difference. The "mini tent" was mainly for privacy. In winter, I'd add a mylar sheet on top of that, for warmth (reflects heat back, and condensation is trapped by the cotton sheet). RE: Living in my car - RoamerRV428 - 05-04-2019 ya tried! more than I would do ![]() I NEED/REQUIRE certain things to survive within a decent amt of kind livability to myself. I can only go so far. being older I have to have things a certain way or I wake up like a pretzel, one that was eaten and thrown on the ground at a carnival and stomped on thru the night! cool report!! That has the makings of a extremely interesting tv mini series.
