<<<<<Ya'll see that I've already gone blind in one eye. When I Google Roof Rack for 1998 GMC Safari Conversion Van with Fiberglass Hightop in my stupidity that is what I expect links to.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can find specific things on the internet? Right now I'm looking for roof racks for the Safari. Usually I'm doing O.K. finding things.
Sometimes dealing with the Safari it's like I'm asking for equipment to ride on a Ela-phump or a Camel and get back links on info on how to live in a VW Bug..........the parts will not work on the Safari or a Ela-phump either

I know you want to put up a rack, but with the fiberglass high top nobody has managed to make one that will not cause problems.

I'm trying to figure out how to at some point mount at least 2 solar panels. The only other thing I can think of is one at the back window on the drivers side that can be raised up, kinda like a widow awning. With the other mounted on a swing away rack across the rear doors so that I can swing it away to open the rear door/s.
My back and shoulders are so intercoursed up that I don't think portable panels will work.

You don't need racks. You can have flexible panels glued directly to the fiberglass roof. I had that done a couple of years ago. I know that some people do not like flexible panels. That is their problem.

I used industrial strength velcro with some small square spacers under my flexible panels. I have a fiberglass roof too. I mounted two on the roof and have two I use as portables when parked in the shade or I needed additional charging amps after rain days.
I like flexible panels. They are also more aerodynamic as they are not up in the wind like mini sails.
