I'll start this one - Gunny - 09-16-2017

I've got a 1988 Terry Resort Travel Trailer, been wrecked once due to my lack of knowledge, had a few repairs and is back to normal.

I pull it with a 2001 GMC half ton, which was also involved in the above mentioned wreck. It had a nice crease and dent. Macco wanted 2500 dollars to repair a 3000 dollar truck so I hired a guy off of Craigslist and he pulled most of the dents and crease out, body puttied it and painted. All for $150.00. From 10 ft you can't tell it's been hammered and up close, well, It doesn't matter.

I've added two Duracel 6 volt golf cart batteries and a new Progressive Dynamics 45 for a charger. A quick word about Progressive, I had a fuse melt and called their customer service. A very pleasant and helpful man took me thru a check of the unit and told me what I was doing wrong. Or one of the many things I was doing wrong. He spent ten minutes telling me how to avoid it happening again and when I told him thanks, I would do what he recommended, he said he would stay on the line to make sure it worked. It did. THAT is customer service.

I've bought a new Husky weight distribution and anti sway hitch to eliminate my white knuckle driving. The guy who receives the mail at the trailer park was not happy about a 100 lb package.

More to come later.

Aha, the famous, or maybe infamous voyage to California. Tongue

Yessir, that's the trip. I should mention I bought a Eaz-lift weight distribution hitch, not to be confused with the much more expensive E-Z Lift hitches. The one I have now has a single anti sway bar. The Husky is a 4 point anti sway. If anyone knows of someone who needs or wants the EAZ Lift I have I will give it to them, no charge but they have to pick it up, I ain't mailing it.

I love those guys that are hungry and willing to do some work for a fraction of the shop cost! No overhead costs! Gonna get my transmission fixed for$150 plus the part and fluid cost!

Very good, this guy I hired was moonlighting and didn't have the fancy tools to return my quarterpanel to perfect but to save 2350 dollars? A no brainer, which certainly applies to me.

hey Gunny I'll take that WD hitch next time we meet up, might one day want to actual;ly pull my Shasta Oasis 18 BH
(no, not with my current squirrel powered car)

RE: I'll start this one - Gunny - 09-17-2017

You got it Art, that works well, I still have to take one part off that is screwed into the frame and torqued to god knows what but I can't move them. I will set it aside.

It includes everything, shank, hitch, ball (2 5/16) and all that is needed.

Okay, god bless USAA for their early deposit system. I have acquired an Aims 1200 Pure Sine wave from the Inverter Store, will be mounting my new hitch tomorrow (Art yours will be covered and ready for when you and I meet up ) and , depending on the dates of my tires on the trailer, may have new shoes.

And after three months with no rain, today, moving day, it freaking rains.
